volleyball and basketball teams. One of Christa's first modeling jobs was when she was a baby, she appeared with her mother in an Ivory Soap ad. After highschool, Christa once again began to model. She gave it up in 1990, to become an actor. Her first major guest part was on the TV show Kate and Allie. She got the part without the help of her aunt, Susan St James, who was the star of the show. After the guest role on Kate and Allie, Christa moved to Los Angeles, California, and had a guest role on Nothern Exposure. This was followed by guest roles on Seinfeld, The Fresh Prince of Belair, and Party of Five. In 1995 Christa got the role that would make her famous. On the Drew Carey Show, Christa played the role of Mary Katherine O'Brien, better know just as "Kate" on the show. On November 27, 1999, Chista Miller married Bill Lawrence. Bill Lawrence is currently the producer of the TV show Scrubs, and was the co-creator and former exectutive producer of Spin City. Their first child, a daugher named Charlotte Sarah Lawrence, was born June 8, 2000.
